How Do ChatFox ShoutOuts Work?

We built ChatFox Shout Outs because team member recognition is an important contribution to any great culture. Teams that work closely together value the contributions of their team members and want to recognize their team member’s work. Nobody can do it alone, this is why great leaders make sure that great work and team contributions are acknowledged.

Shout Outs are not only a great way to build culture but are also a great way to fight team member isolations. When working from home team members usually have limited transparency into team dynamics and how they are perceived on the team. Not knowing where you stand and where your growth prospects are within the organization can lead to de-motivation, low productivity, and turnover.

An important part of recognizing team member contributions is highlighting the skills they used to contribute to your team’s success. Those skills are key for managing a team, building teams, and increasing internal mobility within an organization. Similar to Linkedin skill endorsements are aggregated for each team member. Your perceived contribution to the team and skills are who you are in the organization and will impact who you will become in the organization.

How ShoutOuts Work:

During setup, your admin will be asked to choose a day for Shout Outs. The default day is Friday, but your team admin can choose any day of the week. On the selected day after 9am your time (whatever time is set as your default on Slack), you will see a notification on the ChatFox App located at the bottom of the sidebar under Apps.

When you click on the ChatFox App you will see the request to send a Shout Out. Everyone on your team will receive the same request at 9am on their time zone. You can choose to participate in that day’s Shout Out by selecting “Give Shout Out”.

Select who you want to send a Shout Out to and pick what skill they used to deliver their contribution.

Everyone in the designated ChatFox channel will be notified of the shout out so that the contribution that the team member made who received the recognition can receive praise from the entire team.

How To Customize Shout Outs

With ChatFox Premium you can activate custom Shout Outs. Customizing Shout Outs allows you to reinforce your company culture with skills and values that are important to your organization. All of your data is downloadable with ChatFox Premium so you can utilize your custom values in other applications to better train, mobilize, and engage your team members using your Human Capital Management Systems.

About ChatFox

ChatFox is a Slack chatbot that builds remote team culture. Remote teams that only engage through projects, tasks, and deadlines do not foster a culture around shared values and goals. Build a strong remote team culture, improve remote team productivity, and eliminate team member isolation. Use ChatFox Icebreakers to build rapport with team members, use ChatFox Coffee Chats to have meaningful conversations with people across your organization, or use ChatFox Shout Outs to recommend a colleague and endorse their skills. Unlike other remote team solutions, ChatFox looks at remote team culture from a strategic perspective and has created engaging chats for your team that provide management with insights into remote team engagement, skills, contributions, and mobility.
